I wanted to do something fun and so I remembered how great a cake was that I use to eat a lot when I was doing weight watchers. It was fun because you get to play a little with the cake mix as you make it. So Brooke and I made a Diet Cake. I know people always talk about how a coke is more important but trust me when I say the flavor is still there. I also came across a sugar free mix they have now and so it made this cake even better. Using a combination of aspartame and acesulfame potassium, Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is being described as an addition to the aspartame-only Diet Dr Pepper, rather than a replacement. How is it? Dr Pepper famously has 23 unique flavors, and you can find lists on the internet that purport to reveal them all. I don't know how accurate these are (carrot, really? ), but as a frequent Diet Dr Pepper drinker, I'm very familiar with what they create. I pour Dr Pepper Zero Sugar into a glass and take a sip. It tastes like the Diet Dr Pepper that I'm familiar with. Yet, I think a more direct comparison will be fruitful. One result of spending way too much thinking about junk food is that I've realized how susceptible to marketing I am. A zero-calorie drink named Dr Pepper Zero Sugar has hit Texas grocery store shelves. A spokeswoman from Keurig Dr Pepper says the drink entered the market last month and should now be available "at all major retailers. " The drink comes in three flavors: original, cherry and cream soda. It'll be sold in 12-ounce cans, 20-ounce bottles, 2 liters and half liters. A statement from the company says the new zero-sugar drink "celebrates the one-of-a-kind taste of Dr Pepper's signature 23 flavors. " Those 23 flavors have been the signature of the soda since it was formulated well over 100 years ago in Waco, and they include notes of cherry, licorice, caramel, sarsaparilla, molasses and more. Notably, the recipe remains a secret, and today's Dr Pepper does not contain any of those ingredients. Dr Pepper remains a beloved Texas drink that was first bottled at Dublin Bottling Works, located about 120 miles from Dallas. But that company hasn't been making DP products for about a decade. The hope is that this new product can "strengthen the trademark, " the spokeswoman says.
